MG TD TF 1500 - shimming front brake adjusters?
went for very short test ride down the driveway today--mushy brakes after complete rebuild----all is ok (bleeding-shoes-etc.) but i ran out of adjustment on the fronts-----what is the preferred method of shimming the adjusters? thanx in advance----

tom, i brazed a piece of 14GA steel to each one of the rears. i am surprised you ran out of adjustment on the fronts. i am not saying it doesn't happen, but with two adjusters on the front i wasn't aware that it was an issue. regards, tom

TCK Did you have the front drums turned?...Maybe they're worn out.... I too would think that there should be enough adjustment with two adjusters. Edward

you are both correct--my bad---had turned adjusters the wrong way--duh?????---sunday morning brain-freeze---figured it out--plenty of adjustment and pedal---thanx anyway------

OMG, souds like something that I would do!!!

If any one does run out of adjustment, a penny between the wheel cylindar and the "Mask: gets more than 50% adjustment back.. And it stays there for many miles untill you take it out!! SPW
