MG TD TF 1500 - Sending unit bolt size wrench
Can someone tell me what wrench size is required to unscrew the bolts holding the gasoline sending unit to the gas tank on a TD? Also, what type of sealer to use on the gasket? And, of course, whose gasket kit to purchase? Thanks for all the past/present information, it's been great. Cheers, Barry

Machine screws on my TD and TF...sure they are bolts? Genereral consences says the gasket from Abingdon Spares is the best gasket. No opinion on the sealant.

no bolts---machine screws---get or make a cork gasket--soak it in a little oil-install---screw in a little at a time with a pattern-------

"The Right Stuff"....Best sealant I've ever used.... Good for virtually any gasket job..Not a silicone...It becomes real rubber within minutes... Will also match and repair tears in window/windshield and door weather stripping.... Biggest drawback is cost, about $18-$20 for a pint-sized container. I get it at NAPA. Edward

The machine screws on T Cars are BA (British Association) sizes I think they are 2BA or 4BA ( about the size of a 10-32 or a 5-40 screw) The hex wrenches that fit are marked accordingly as 0BA to 10BA

They are 4BA machine screws, originally slot-head I believe. I replaced mine with hex head screws when I repaired the sender unit. It makes it easier to fit/remove the unit with the tank in place. Dave
