George, can you give me a location of the Phillips head screw? I can't orient myself from the photo you provided.

Had to remove George's 'story' from the jAlbum page to leave room for the captions. Here's what was on there:

I recently had a chance to check out a numbers-matching 1953 MG-TD #
27489, engine # 27872 that had an original barn-find body, as well as
most of the interior. As time has passed, many points of originality
have been lost. Many items have been reproduced (which is good that
they are available), however many details are not even close to the
originals. Besides originality, they just look better! Over time,
these have been accepted as correct, and the manufacturers simply have
no incentive to re-tool or correct. Can't someone please make correct
chrome Phillips-headed screws for us? Besides originality, they just
look better! This car had a few evidently running production changes
that I have not seen documented as well. The body ID plate was under
the tool box lid like a TF, and the windscreen wiper mounting plate
was black, not chrome. From the owner: "The story goes that the car
was purchased and put in dry storage in 1959. A father /son project
that they worked on over the years and from the photos you can see
what was done. The father has since passed away and son is in a
nursing home so his daughter commissioned my friend to sell the car. "
It appears the engine /tranny has been removed and likely renovated,
and some suspension/chassis work done as well.

Jim, The lone phillips screw is in the windscreen frame, there are two of them between the right hand wiper and the ws wiper motor. There are nuts w/ clips to hold the wiper motor wire on the inside. There are more screws on earlier cars with the wiper motor on the side, but the same ones. George

Thanks for the info George. My car has the ususal chrome plated, round head, slotted and threaded screws. The rest is as you describe.
