MG TD TF 1500 - 'Rocky's' life, hanging by a thread!
| O.K., so the title is a little dramatic..... Lifted the body off, yesterday, without a hitch (after making and installing), some door-opening braces...Then placed it on a rolling table, that I welded out of some scrap....Chassis is on skates.... His lifeless body is looks so forlorn, just hanging from the lift. Some images, follow.

| A lift, welding skills....must be nice! All most of us had was a reluctant wife and some rope. Looks like you have a good winter project there. Have fun! Ed |

| Ed "welding skills"?....That's a laugh!....I do manage to keep two pieces of metal from coming apart, but it ain't pretty! I'm still using a 35 year old Craftsman stick welder.... Yes, that lift is a life-saver, and my wife keeps me in the garage as much as possible...Lucky me! Edward |

| Ed, Can you post some info/pictures of your lift? Mfg ? Model ? Comments ? |

| Here's a shot of the lift from a different angle. The bridge-jack is used to hang the rear ropes, front ropes are just wrapped around the ramps... Hardware-store hooks are bolted to the wheel-wells in the rear, and to the lower firewall holes in the front. The good news is the wood is in good-to-excellent condition...Bad news is some of the sheet metal will need repair. Edward

| Mort Sorry, I missed your post, with all the singing, I couldn't hear it! Anyway , it's a Direct Lift 8+,(8000lb), that I purchased several years ago, from Gregg Smith Equipment, in Atlanta....(They have locations in the N.E., as well)... Very good web site , too. I rented a car hauler, and went down and picked it up... Assembled myself, with the help of an engine hoist. It will operate on either 110V or 220V...I'm running it on 110... I don't know how I worked on cars without it.... It was very reasonable, and (knock on wood), has been quite reliable. It comes with casters, so it doesn't have to be bolted to the floor, but I bolted mine. Here's another shot of my "B" roadster, on the lift, during restoration...Ramps were covered with plastic. Really handy for paint and body work! Edward
