MG TD TF 1500 - Rebuilding Crank Journals
It appears that the "old" process of hard chrome being used to build back up to spec Crank Journals is mostly not done anymore rather a "spray" weld called the Gleisen (spelling?) process is used.Has anyone had this done this on a crank and could comment on the efficacy? Best Regards Rod Murray

I know ABSOLUTLY nothing about it, but found this video on a Saab (one of my other hobbies) forum a while ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mCfchnJ724&feature=youtube_gdata_player I also found this, it is much more specific to crankshafts. I would think this is a viable alternative to scrapping a good solid but worn out or spun crank: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LajUoov2jA&feature=youtube_gdata_player -David

That is of interest. When my old engine blew, it gouged one journal. This may be a way of saving it.
