MG TD TF 1500 - Parking Brake Disassembly Advice
In disassembling the parking brake on my TF so that I can send it out for chrome, I am stumped on how to best remove the "rivet", or as Abington Spares calls it, the "fulcrum pin" that the parking brake shaft/handle uses to pivot up and down. Is it just the simple case that I need to drill it out and get a new rivet, or am I missing something? Many thanks.

Yep, grind or drill the head out and replace with a new one. George

Pictures on my website under brakes in the TD 15470 Restoration section. http://www.dbraun99.com The rivet sold by Moss is soft, and will buck easily into shape when it comes time to reassemble the device. warmly, dave

Wow - your web site is amazing! Please now restore a TF so I can copy exactly what you do. Thanks for the info and directing me to you site.

You know, I have a bunch of pictures of LaVerne's TF restoration. I am putting a chapter on the differences in my book. warmly, dave
