MG TD TF 1500 - Parade
Guys, wish me luck today. Driving daughter and partner in homecoming parade today. It will be about 92 degrees. This brings back memories- all bad- of me driving the TD in the parade when I was in high school 35 years ago. My memories are of boiling, fouling plugs, and the like. Miss Dream Girl or something was in the car and she was not amused. Of course the car is in a little better condition now, but I'm still worried! George

Go for it George. I'm sure your daughter will remember every minute of it no matter what happens. Best of luck. Dan H.

George, you are a brave man! Keep your eyes on the exit streets along with the temp gauge.Good luck!

Use plain water and "Water Wetter" in the radiator like I did in the 4.5 mile 4th of July parade here in Atlanta, and I never got over 90 C. Coasted where I could.

Time to replace a bad memory, George. Better company today, too. Hang in there, Dan

| George, I'm at the other end of the spectrum, I driving my grand daughter in the homecoming parade next Friday in the TD and my wife is driving another grand daughter in my Camaro convertible and the predictions are for 55 degrees. Wouldn't miss it for the world. I drove the TD in our 4th of July parade, it was 95 and things went well. I did however install a heat shield behind the carbs and that made all the difference in the world. Bill

George, I also want to add, savor the moment, you'll have a great memory. Bill

George, You shouldn't have a problem with fowling the plugs as long as you don't just idle through the parade,, It would help to "burp" the throttle once in a while to clean the plugs,,

Thanks for the support!! No problem at all, about 90 degrees, car never got over 85C, ran like a champ! Bill, wife bought round pillows for the riders- much more comfy than sitting on the top rail! http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.182715321803235.45754.100001943061144&l=bf6dd81e7a&type=1

Outstanding shots George. You should be quite proud of both your daughter and your TD! Warmly, dave

I don't know George. That guy next to that beautiful girl looks a little shady. Oh, oops that is you.
Bruce Cunha
Wow George, I bet you felt great. Great pictures. I know how it feels watching the temp gauge all the way, seeing the finish line and knowing your going to make it. I'll give the pillows a shot this time. Did your leg get a bit cramped on the clutch? Bill

What a great weekend. Last night we finally drove the kids around the track at halftime. The game started at late thirty, because the other team got really lost on the way to the school They played as well as they navigated, we won 49-20 as well! It was amazing how the teenagers went nuts over the TD. One wanted to trade his truck for it on the spot! A couple more shots to follow.

One more...first runner up! Truly the most fun I've ever had with the TD!!! Today back to reality. Washed/scrubbed and cleaned the bottom of the car for the Lk. Mirror show in two weeks. George
