MG TD TF 1500 - oil seal
Hi, does anybody have the dimensions for the lip seal conversion for the timing cover. I wrote it down years ago when I did mine but can't find it now. TIA. Ray TF 2884

Ray, the one that I received from Moss was a Timken 364707XX. I understand that someone has found a Volvo seal that's even better, but I don't have any info on it. Bud

I got this from the archives, it's not the full answer, but it is a contact,,, . . . "Len Fanelli, who is on this vender list, has a Volvo seal that is supposed to fit better." . . . SPW

This is the front seal info I have accumulated over the years: Volvo cam oil seal P/N 6842273-2 Moss P/N 120-750 ID OD width Chicago Rawhide P/N 13537 1.375” 1.832” 0.313” or P/N 36x47x7 36mm 47mm 7mm If the portion of the crankshaft pulley where the seal rides is worn, Chicago Rawhide supplies a product known as a Speedi-Sleeve, P/N 99138 that can be fitted to the pulley to make the seal fit correctly. The improved Hal Cramer seal from a '88 volvo cam seal is: gates pn ks 13945.national # 1172, fel pro tcs45725. it fits better than a moss seal, & has a double lip seal, not a single lip seal. No machine work required. Good Luck! Frank
