MG TD TF 1500 - New wood...

Last time I was at my 'wood' place, they had some 'Roasted Beech'.... picked some up along with Mahogany for a bit darker wheel.... the end ones are beech/mahogany .... middle is mahogany/beech

Is the diameter of the grip on your custom wheels getting thinner? Those wheels look very sharp. Nice job.

Once again a quality job. When do you get time to do these anyway? Still not home, we are on the way back to Campbell River but still in Ontario (Thunder Bay) and will head out tomorrow in the hopes of getting to Manitoba. Will be good to see the kids and grandkids again and have a drive in the TD.

...oops.... I just listed one of the TD wheels on eBay and after making sure all was well and the photos showed, and putting a buy it now and starting price...I forgot to put a reserve...duh!.... when I went to add it a few minutes later there was already a bid on it so I couldn't make any changes to the charges..... this one might go for a really good price.... thought you guys might be interested....(now I will go and read 'eBay for Dummies')

Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the heads up. I, for one, will be watching it, and sure hope one of us (maybe me) gets it.

Dave...just saw your question... I have had a couple a tad thick, but try to keep to 7/8ths wide and deep... I have rebuilt my jigs and can get a bit closer to the 3/8" rim groove nowadays... Of course, I always hold my breath when I'm doing the first sanding on the lathe with 60 grit...one of these days I will break through into the groove and I will have wood bits all over the shop....

I'm bidding ...could use some "nue wood"!
