MG TD TF 1500 - Need Help - again
| I am to the point where I am testing the fit of all the sheet metal prior to the final painting, and for the first time in probably 10 years the body tub is sitting back on the frame. Since it has never been on the frame while I have owned it, I need help with identifying what the hole in the outer frame rail bolts to. There don't appear to be any attachment points between the one in the approximate center of the door and the uprights at the firewall. Sorry to be so obtuse but the next step is to check the door fit so I want to get the frame mounts right first. Thanks for the help, Don Scott

Thanks for the pics Dan and John - what they show is that I don't have a bolt hole in the angle iron at the base of the scuttle hoop - have to investigate further and see it there is a hole underneath. Thanks again - this BB is invaluable. Don

I have the same holes on mine. The hole to nowhere. Mike

It was for the rare Kubota attachment option.

Thanks for all the pics everyone, but as usual they prompt another question. I checked and I do not have any bolt hole at the base of the scuttle hoop, and I noticed in several of the pictures submitted what appears to be one. Should there be a bolt to the frame at this point? Thanks, Don LaVerne - That should help justify buying a Kubota, right!

Don; Bolt at the base of the hoop was on the later cars-#20749 listed as the beginning point for the additional mount point. Think the Kubota option required it. Dan

Don, I have the same hole in my TF but elongated! Maybe something attaches to this. The most likely answer of course is they sent the apprentice to the store to get 12 holes but he came back with 13, hence the extra hole! Don in the hot hills of Adelaide Sth Oz TF4887

Laverne. What is the thing hiding in the snowbank betweenthe hanging body and the Kubota's bucket?

What is the thing hiding in the snowbank betweenthe hanging body and the Kubota's bucket? Looks like a sub soiler. Probably wrong though. PJ

That is the inner dash, Paul. Another panel fits over that one to mount instruments, cluster panel and glove box door. Dan

My TF also has that elongated hole, but the floor board is not routed for a bolt head, so I guess it was not used for anything?
