MG TD TF 1500 - Mystery Tour

Saturday morning marks the start of our annual Mystery Tour for our club. No one knows where we are going but it will be fun. I will try and post a photo onb here. 17 cars going for an overnite trip. Should be a great time.

Sounds like a good time. Lemme know how it works-may want to borrow the idea for our club. Need some variety in events to keep interest up. Dan

I love those kind of events. Wish you were closer I'd join in. Think the kidney will allow that now.

LaVerne, been meaning to ask, what did the Doc find?
Dan, will let you know. Two members of our club have been doing this for years, this is the first time we are doing an overnite.

Dan: Our Club holds a "No Left Turn" run which provides lots of laughs and takes you to places & roads you might never visit. Takes a bit to set it up but fun!

LOL Dan, I use to work with a guy whose wife had to drive him to work every day because he said it made him nervous to drive. He use to drive to get cigarettes not far from home becasue he only had to make right hand turns and that was the only way he could turn. One day he went for a pack and he was gone forever so of course his wife got very worried. He finally made it back and when she ask him what happened he said they were doing road construction on his route and he couldn't make one of the necessary rights so he had drove and drove turning right until he finally got home and that was the last time he ever drove. LOL

All of our club runs are mystery tours, why plan, more fun that way.

In the world of Harley Davidson, there is a familiar adage which can also be said here....

"It is not the destination, it's the journey."

....Then there was the couple from Brighton who went to London to sign on to a mystery tour......they got on the bus and.......'went to Brighton'........

Never heard of a No Left Turn run, John. Think I know just where to set up something like that. Downtown area is seeing a rebirth of sorts with lots of eateries and pubs as well as 2 micro breweries. Be a hoot to send a pack of LBCs circling right thru the old streets and alleys-with required refreshment stops, of course. Appreciate the ideas guys; keeps club events fun to vary the agenda. Lemme know how yours comes out, Tom. Dan

Mystery Tour was a resounding success. No one knew where the Heck we were going and we drove some great winding roads thru Wisconsin bluff country and back into Minnesota thru the SE part of the state. Great roads, lots of twists and turns and wound up in Preston MN for the night. Great drinks, great food and best of all great friends and conversation.I managed to sleep thru the water ballet incident, but was told it was great. On way home, Water pump failure nad the last 70 miles were in a FLATBED tow truck. Another repair job.

One of the most fun ones I have done was a poker-run with local club. Each stop you got directions to the next one. The directions were not the same for each person, that made it all the more fun as we would "criss-cross" and see others going different ways at some of the intersections.

Pulled the water pump this AM and found that the shaft is damaged. Pulley seems OK when I put it on a new pump but wobbles like crazy on the old one. may still invest in a new pulley.
