MG TD TF 1500 - My new oil drip box

Thanks to a discussion on a previous thread , I went ahead and made an oil drip box, to catch drips through the drip pin....
At least this is a cheap alternative to the difficult to install, Moss conversion seal...
I used vinyl door edge, to seal the top , and keep from chafing the top of the box and bottom of the oil pan...
Also used a larger bracket, for better support, since it isn't attached to the bracket.
Photo shows temporarily installed box.

Here's a view , off the engine...A standard radiator tap was used. Inside of the box is sprayed with rubberized undercoating.

Looks good Ed. It is like one I had back in the day.
We found that stuffing a ladies sanitary napkin in the box helped with any splash and seepage around the box. Some of the material from any of the current high absorbent pads on the market now would work.

"Regular or Super? (LOL)"

Depends on how well you fix the oil leaks ;^)

Ed,
If your interested in a small production run I would love to have one just like it. I have never developed the skill/craft of welding. I am sure there are other deficient owners out there like me. Come up with a price and contact me here or by e-mail.
Great job.

Hi Ed,
I'll second Mort's wishes. I'd like one, too, and you can leave off the painting & prep, we can handle that.
hopefully,

Ed, what about making a small run of these, with or without the bracket, vinyl trim or radiator drain? For many of us,those three small items are probably laying around in our junk boxes. Forget the paint job too!

Not to steal EB's thunder but here's a link to someone that was selling them thru the Ontario MGT Register: http://www.omgtr.ca/buysell/autobuysell.htm

I had a run of theses made several years ago and the price he's asking is very fair.
