MG TD TF 1500 - Moss turn signal wires too long?
Has anyone who purchased a Moss harness noticed the wrapped wires for the turn signals are about 12" TOO long? Before I cut them (cringe!), I better ask. As Norm says, measure twice, cut once. Thanks, Ed

Ed, are you talking about the 8 (?) wires that connect to the relay? Bud
Bud Krueger (TD10855)
No, the 2 wires that connect to the turn signal light itself on the wing.
efh Haskell
Ed, there is room enough to make the loop that hangs down under the wing so that the water does not stay on the loom in case you drive in the rain. Mine has a loop there.

Good idea Tom. I'll do it. Ed

Turn signal and tag light wires were way, way too long on my harness, just shorten as needed- a litle at a time. If too long or big a loop, they can drag down and be abraided by a tire ( proved this too!)
George Butz
George, you are right about haveing the loop to big. I just assumened that Ed was trying to get it to lay flat under the fender.

The problem is the cloth-like stuff wrapped around the wires ("insulation" I guess) seems to be sealed at the end somehow. To shorten the wires I need to cut this stuff and duplicate that seal lest the stuff will slip down the wires and not do it's job. For now I just made a nice neat coil and zip-tied it (double) out of the way of the tire. Anybody know how they seal those ends of the insulation?
efh Haskell
Seal it with a quick run of a match. I think it is a polyester fabric. dave from GOF Central
