MG TD TF 1500 - Modified TF front tie bar
| I have breen looking through the content of three boxes of parts from Hi gear engineering which I bought in unused unopened condition from a TF owner who had redecided on fitting a five speed box. As far as I can see there is no modified front wing tie bar in the kit. I might be able to make one up myself if I only knew what it looks like. Is there anybody out there with a Hi gear kit in their TF who would be able to post a picture of the modified tie bar installed? Thank you! Jan |

| Hello Jan I built this tie bar for around $55 USD. Works quite nicely. Use the 2 upper most fender mounting holes left and right. Peter

| I used a bit too much loc-tite. The parts are from www.mcmaster.com. The on line catalog has all the tech details so you can source parts in Norway. This item seems to be missing from other TF's. It is really needed, can't drive much without it. Peter

| Thank you Peter, this was extremely helpful! I think I can find all the stuff apart from the brackets at my local hardware store. I guess it is a matter of doing this job after the engine is sitting on its new mounting but before the rad goes back on the car, as the five gear converson makes it necessary that the engine is moved 10 mm forward.
