MG TD TF 1500 - Mark II TD/C TD Registry Proposal

With all the discussion on Mark II details, I would like to propose a registry of TD/C Mark II cars, if none already exists. Ownership information would be kept private if requested, and it is hoped that such a group would encourage Mark II owners to share information on their cars, in order to have a better understanding of what is authentic and correct, and to make parts available to other Mark II owners.

I have found some 110 listed on George Merson's very useful list, and would be happy to hear - off line, please - of any others not on the list. Please include chassis number and engine number, as well as LHD/RHD. I will be sorting through various records soon to see if I can make a more complete listing.

Thang you.

Think it has been tried before. You have my support.

Response to my proposal has been surprisingly underwhelming, and there seems no reason to carry forward. I have production records of virtually all TD/C cars made, and am happy to help with any TD/C information.

Didn't see this thread until just now. Doubt there's much I could contribute, but I'd like to see such a thing....

Thanks for the reply; unfortunately, you are one of three people to answer... I have info on more than hundred cars from other lists, but if the owners don't contact me I don't feel I can use the information.

I see from my notes that your car is the first of five finished on the same day - 6000 (great number) to 6004.

I would love to know more about your car, as I am working towards writing the definitive history (if such a thing could exist) of the TD/C.

Thanks very much. Tom

After starting the T series data base, and increasing it by people entering info, I think any 'list' is a great thing...
I should have the entry page back up in a week or two...just getting a security page for entering (a bot caught my page and enters a hundred times a day or so)....
Go for it Tom... and make sure you spread it around....people will answer and add slowly.....

Feel free to use my stuff, Tom. TD/C 21793 should be in George's list as well as the Registry. Dan

I'll try to get the owner of the car, of which I'm rebuilding the engine, to participate. Can't give all details without his knowledge and approval . Engine number I have here of course : TD3 20441 . Would you be interested in specific picture's of it ?

Tom, I really don't think that many T-series owners frequent this board. Maybe consider an ad in the TSO, or contact all of the different T-series clubs around the country. Just a thought. George

You can include me, TD/C18992. I have been "away" from the list for a few weeks and signed on tonight to report on ebay what I'm sure is a fake (250718067549). Now the dumb iron body number says TD/C either 15153 or 16153 but the engine plate says TD2. The said numbers are not in the same font as mine and the fuel lines are funky right below the pumps. What say you?
