MG TD TF 1500 - Instrument decals

I have seen instrument decals on e-bay at one time, and I was wondering if anyone had a source for these. I thought if I could get the Green/Blue Jaeger faces in a decal I could make the Smith gauges that I have at least look like they belong.

Moss Europe sell sets of these decals so guess they may also be available from LBC or Abington Spares.

I looked at Moss here and all I could find was decal for Tach and Speedo faces. The decals I am looking for would be for the water temp/oil gauge, and the ammeter.

C.R.,
I had a very badly deteriorated gauge face for my supercharger. I took photos of it and filled in the missing parts in my text to various print shops that make decals. I selected a printer and he did a photoshop image of my gauge. I then went to the shop to work with him for the best color background. He made the decal and applied it to the other side of the face. If I remember right he charged me $60 and I thought it was cheap for the time and skill he put into it.

Mort, your printer is a miracle worker! Save that guy!

I've used the decals before and I didn't find them to be a good permanent solution. They are hard to get completely smooth and they eventually bubbled. This was more of a problem on the larger gauges than the smaller.

Somehow I came up with new faces for the larger gauges, but I don't know anyone that sells them outright now. The gauge restoration places typically won't sell theirs. From the Frame Up says they are working on a supply so you might try them as an alternative. YMMV.

Mort... Great job.

Dave I will look at Frame Up. The other alternative would be a model shop for supplies to make my own decals. Just need a good picture of the gauge faces. I would love to do it while I have the dash apart and gauges are out already.

CR,

Last year I sent my oil/water gauge to APT and was very pleased with the result.

Here's where most of us old farm tractor owners use for decals. Don't know what they would charge for instruments. You photo the image high def, give them the dimensions and colors and they take it from there. PJ

http://www.speedograph-richfield.com/ These guys in the UK are teriffic and very reasonable. they did both my speedo and tach for less than 500 buck for everything, including new face that is not a decal.
