MG TD TF 1500 - ignition switch 55 TF
I hate to admit it but I've managed to lose the one and only key to my newly restored TF. Thus new switch? Moss does not have any, neither does LBCarCo. any ideas would be welcome.

No, just let us know the number on the cylinder, and I'm sure someone will lend you a key or have one made for you. I have probably 25 old keys, so let us know. Tom Lasnge Bar Harbor, Maine

A year or so ago I bought a couple of spare keys for my TD on EBAY and all I had to provide was the key code from the ignition lock. I can't remember the company I got them from but you can probably Google something like MG keys and see what you get. Good luck. I'm sure you can solve your problem without having to replace your ignition switch.

A locksmith, especially an old well established one can likely cure your problem. Take the switch back out and take it with you. I had one in South Carolina make me two for my TF. The blanks are kinda special, but MGs weren't the only cars that used them. PJ

Pete Groh will send you the right key if you can get the number of the lock, if not then he can loan you key rings with a couple hundred British keys on them and some key blanks. It's just a matter of finding the correct key and then having the new key reground.
