MG TD TF 1500 - How Many Left (in UK)

They've just mentioned on BBC's "Top Gear", that there's a UK website called howmanyleft.co.uk, which will give stats for all the car models that are still registered in the country.

No time to really explore it tonight but no doubt it'll provide some interesting browsing.

It looks as if the TD/TF stats are at: http://howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/mg_td%2Ftf and we have 723 licenced and 131 on "SORN" (i.e. off the road but probably still alive). Interestingly, the numbers don't appear to have changed very much for the past 10 years, which suggests the value of these cars is keeping them in demand.

Top Gear have already found that there's only one surviving Vauxhall Chevette GL Auto and they're toying with the idea of organising a hunt to track it down ..... and shoot it. (You had to be there when these were around to appreciate how truly awful these cars were - my neighbour had one.

BTW: Brilliant sushine today and in the low 80s, so it's been the first time I've really had HBO 323 out for any length of time since the rewire/refit. Went well (mustn't tempt providence, though) and was terrific fun. Turned a lot of heads at my local pub, as well.
