MG TD TF 1500 - How many here have valve cover racing
Was thinking about sending Bob out on a world tour. How many here have clubs that do valve cover racing? Since I obviously can't get to all of em I thought I'd pack Bob in a small suit case and send him out to race the world. You run em and fix em when he brakes, slap a home town sticker on his suit case and forward him on to the next location. Eventualy returning home. What ya thunk?

So are you saying you would like to see the Bob II at your event?
|
LaVerne
LaVerne, our club has had one for all the years it has existed. It is in the summer, next years date unknown till Jan at the planning meeting but send him on, I would be happy to race him against our best in the MNMMGTR Annual Race.

I'm thinking if we can get enough interest. We can put together a Bob Intinerary. When you've had your way with Bob you send him on to the next destination...sorry at your expense. I'm thinking I set Bob up with a face book page and you post how Bobs doing and perhaps we can get some Bob Action on you tube from around the country...or maybe even around the world . I'd send hinm with his tool set and USB cord to charge up the Ipod but you would most likely need to keep some 5 min JB Weld on hand to fix crap that fell off and maybe a new battery (9 volt) once in a while. I think we could have some fun with it...or maybe not.

LaVerne, it would be fun just to show it at GOF's.

Nearly all the Australian clubs have entries in the rocker cover racing at the Easter national meeting. Matthew.

LaVerne, Does Bob have any unusual requests, such as not having a room on a certain floor; fruit peeled a certain way; green and red M&Ms only; or travel in the first class compartment? Really a racer of his stature must have some quirks. I think, despite Tom Maine's kind offer to race, the Minnesota MG-T Register would need to see his personal appearance contract before committing. warmly, dave

LaVerne, I love your valve cover racer. It's a piece of art work. I hope you have it on displayed in a special place. David.....
David Honness
Don H, Thanks for posting the general rules,,,I think a clarfication is required for #6,,, I would think that each of the four wheels must be in contact with the track?? In other words, the racer can not be of three wheel design with the fourth being a spare mounted on the body?? SPW

I'd love to race "Bob". Will be watching for an event near me to do so. (Have a fresh box of 9volts ...and have a good idea where that goes!) Can I put a "NOS" system on him?
David Sheward
| Dave, Bobs only request is that you don't obscure his sponsers logos. His agent is considering a clause that he not be required to participate where Triumph covers are run. He does after all have some standards. Dave, Any modifications to the Bob II are acceptable provided they are within the rules of the club event. I was considering adding bong smoke out the tail pipe myself.
