MG TD TF 1500 - Head gasket follow up
| Back on the road again. New head gasket installed. I want to thank you all for the advice and tips. especially Tome Lange for the parts and time spent on the phone and various e-mails. The machine shop only cut .003" off the head but the overall dimension of the height of the head is just shy of 2-15/16". This head has obviously been worked on before. While waiting for gaskets, rods, studs etc. I managed to tinker with a few other things around the engine compartment. One was to install one of those funky 7 blade asymmetric yellow plastic fans to improve cooling. It seems to be working fine but more news on that in the future. Once again thank you all. You are responsible for another TD actually being on the road. Off to a local show this Saturday. Mort PS. I tried to reactivate the old thread with no luck. Anyone else have this problem? |

| Mort, I am putting on the yellow fan myself. Anything to make it run cooler. |
