MG TD TF 1500 - Good morning from the north west

Greetings all. Doing a northwestern trip in the Green Hornet. Had a great meeting with John and Alex in Olympia a few days ago and spent the night with John and his lovely wife Nancy. Thanks again John for being such a gracious host.

Now in Salem OR staying with an old friend. Been a great trip to this point

However I now need to track down a carb float as mine went Nautilus on me. Gonna make a few calls here soon

LaVerne -- We enjoyed your visit as well and the chance to talk things 'TF' and compare notes about our two cars, together with Alex sharing his TF stories as well. Great times. But, staying up until 2am, even if talking things TF, was a bit of a push for these old bones.

Sorry to read of the carb float problem and hope you find a replacement. I know there's a shop in Portland, but can't remember the name of the place. Maybe someone in the Portland-Salem-Eugene area will point you in the right direction.

Found one here in Salem John. Most likely head towards home tomorrow. Probably explains some of the rich running at your place

Nice to visit with ya LaVerne. It felt good to drive a TF again after such a hiatus. I think my favorite part was the bugs on every forward facing surface. What a trophy!

Glad you found a float. I had that prob once and was able to fix by puncturing the float to drain it, and then using gaffers tape to cover the whole surface of the float. This lasted long enough for me to get to a place where I could make a repair.

Wish I had known you were passing through - I am in a suburb of Portland and have several floats in my spares. Safe travels home - sorry the weather turned ugly for you!
