MG TD TF 1500 - Front running light blub #

I'm sure it's in the archives but I can't find it. Need the number for the running/directional light bulb for a 54 TF. I have one that has no numbers on it and the local NAPA store can't seem to match it up with anything..... Thanks John

John - The required bulb depends on the socket that is used in the side lights on your car. The early sockets used a straight bayonet base (both locating pins in a line) and the bulb number is 1176. The later cars had a socket that took a bulb with staggered locating pins so that there was no guessing which way the bulb went in - this type socket takes a 1157 bulb. Cheers - Dave

Thanks Dave, I knew it wasn't an 1157 because of the straight bayonet base. I was surprised the NAPA store couldn't ID it. John
