| Bob, Do an extensive search of the archives, including door adjustment, or anything else related. Somewhere there is a ton of information. George |

| Many thanks Jim and George Butz for all the info I think somebody should publish a instruction manual. A last question should the tub be secured before starting on the doors or should the doors be hung first Thanks again Bob TD3993 |

| You have to do both together. Shimming the tub mounting points alter the tip/angle of the doors. Example: raising the back tub mount lowers the front of the door by tipping the hinge pillar foreward at the top. So you have to loosely fit the door in the opening (using spacers- like cardboard), then shim the tub so the fit is passive with the hinges tightened, etc. It will likely take a very long time to get them just right. | And make sure you add the turn blocks to the doors to get the 'twist' right so they fit proper. And it's likely that your brass hinges are a bit tweaked as well, mine were. There are so many factors involved in getting the doors to hang right it's astounding. But if you stick with it you will be rewarded with that most pleasing thunk of a proper fitting door when all is said and done. |
