MG TD TF 1500 - Fairly early TD on eBay

If only this TD (eBay 130582872043) were more there and more original, it might be interesting. This early car, TD 0746 is a Feb. 1950 car made in about the first three months of TD production, but needs drive train, steering, interior, instruments and dash, and I'm sure a whole lot more. Right now it has Datsun power (not running), bucket seats, funky steering and coooling systems, but still manages to looks fairly together. Look how far back the engine is mounted - that couldn't have helped handling!

Looks like it could be brought back, but at what cost?

If you could get it cheap enough it might be worth it Tom. Looks like they really cut up the firewall but that is an easy fix. I have an extra firewall, little rusty but I think it would clean up ok. You get the car, its yours.

Could be an interesting project.
Depending on what the reserve is, I think it would be kind of fun to have one with a modern drive train to putz around with. Looks pretty solid but I think I would go for all new engine & trans. (Buick Grand National V6 would be fun! LOL)

I made this guy an "offer" ...his car and $5,000 for my 1950 Corvette Proto-type pick-up.
(It looks a lot like a 92 Dakota with a Corvette emblem on the fender!)

Here's a TD ratrod project currently on craigslist for sale for $1800. Volvo engine, model A front wheels, Ford rear end. Such a deal today. (no interest)
