MG TD TF 1500 - Dunlap Tires
| My TF has Dunlap tires on it, put on some years ago. They look like new, as I don't believe they've ever had more than a couple hundred miles on them. They seem to be a very hard tire and with their age and hardness, I'm going to replace them with new tires when I finish the car and prep it for the road. The smallest tire Dunlap sells is a 195/15. We have Vredesteins on the wifes MGB and they have a great ride, handling and wet road traction. I've been considering putting their Sprint on the TF, as it looks more period correct. Any of you guys using them and if so, how do you like them? PJ |

| PJ, I have had the Vredestein Sprints on my TD for about 3 or 4 years and I'm very pleased with them. I have only put on about 2,500 miles on them and the car rides so nice. I have some friends that are using them too and they like them. They are about the only reasonable priced tires for the size. Cheers, David....... |

| The Vredesteins I put on the B are Quatrac 2s and they are an excellent tire. I ordered them direct from Holland at the time, which took 4 months to get. Now there are dealers everywhere. I like the looks of the sprints for the TF. The Quatracs would look out of place on the TF, to modern in my opinion. Thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated. PJ

| The factory tyre size was 5.50x15, which matches best to a 155SR15 radial. Since these are both NLS, 165x15 is best, although there are those who manage to stuff bigger types in their wheelwells - how, I don't know! Tom Lange Bar Harbor, Maine |

| As I wanted a "road car" my engine rebuilder suggested to get a more stable ride go up to a 60 spoke wheel (I think MGA) and have fitted 165/80 R15 87T Marshall tyres, a sub brand of HANCOOK. This size tyre is more readily available (in Aust) far, far cheaper and I am very happy with the ride. I also think they don't look tooo far out of place. Kev S. TF6288 Geelong

| Somehow I've acquired two bias ply tires that are ancient, but presentable, i.e., there's still some tread and no scars. 1) 5.50-5.60-15, 4 ply, Tube type, Made in USA, Super Service. 2) 5.60-15 Tubeless, Dunlop Gold Seal, USA, 4 ply Polyester, DOT DAM4C53101. They're free to a good home. Come and get 'em. Plymouth, MA. Bud |

| FW, I have Vredestiens 165HR15 on the front and spare and 185H15 on the rear. All fit nice and a good ride. Bill TD24570

| The MGA was also 48 spoke, but Austin Healey had a 60 spoke 15" rim. It is a popular upgrade for MGs with 15" wire wheels. I noticed Coker tire has 165/15 Michelin X radials now. Psych! -David |
