MG TD TF 1500 - Don't paint your medallions

Polyester resin and pigment does a great job. Credit to Jan Targosz from a 2004 post for this one (http://www2.mgcars.org.uk/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=mgbbs&access=&mode=archiveth&subject=8&subjectar=8&thread=2004082202453930927).

I saw the post and thought I would try it when the time came. Fill the medallions flush with resin, let sit overnight - a few minutes of sanding and buffing, and they are good to go.

The finishing resin buffs out nicely. I'm really pleased with the result.

As a member, why do I get a notice that I am not a member, when I click on the underlined part of this thread? It seems as a result, I cannot get the information that is being blocked.

What gives?

Same here! I've had this happen before and don't know why. PJ

Happens to me, too. I suspect that it has to do with the link. My in initial sign-in recognizes me as a member and gives me access to archives. The page that comes up after clicking on the link does not have archives listed. Bud

I found it -- if you search for 2004082202453930927 in the archives you'll come up with it, topic is "Hubcap Paint"

I'm not sure why the link doesn't work... sorry about the confusion.

Do you fill the area up to the top? Yours look great.
Bruce Cunha

Bruce,

Thanks, and yes - fill to just proud of the surface. I used a chopstick to "paint" the resin in. I had a couple of glitches where the resin did not quite come up even (due to the medallion not being level), but it is not noticeable once buffed out.
