MG TD TF 1500 - Dashboard Center panel

Just a quick question. Upon recieving a new set of bolts that attach the center instrument cluster panel to the dashboard, it is clear that they are chromed bolts. I was under the impression that the bolt tops were painted black. I don't beleive that the originals (if they were original) that came out of my TD were chrome. Does anyone know which is correct?

The ones I took out of an original car yesterday were entirely plated black, not painted. I don't suppose it makes a lot of difference, as long as the paint is thin. I'm sure Craig Seabrook has the correct ones.

I agree with Tom. My 1951 TD is original and never taken apart and they are Black.

Yep, black originally. But I painted mine to match the panel, just personal preference. George
