MG TD TF 1500 - clutch linkages adjusted
| As I reported on a previous post, I had had a conversation with Steve Neal and he gave me the following advice regarding the adjustment of the clutch linkages to "correct" for the last moment engagement of the clutch just prior to the clutch pedal coming to the top of its position. When I described the clutch linkages set up I then had, he asked me to describe the position of the lever to which the top and bottom linkages were attached. I told him it was practically straight up and down, at 6 o'clock. He informed me that it should be at about 7:30, and when the pedal was pushed to the floor this lever should be at about 4:30. I have since made these changes, although I could only get to about 7 o'clock as I ran out of thread length on the upper rod. The before and after photos will give you a better idea of what this looks like. I can report the the clutch does engage sooner and thus makes the shifting and engaging much easier. Cheers -- John

| See O'conner Classic web site and follow thru. Even tho they are out of busness their web site is still active. Their linkage works. |

| I think John has the Skyhook five speed gearbox, and so it is different than stock. John, it would probably be a good idea in the future to continue the thread in the original post rather than start a new one in midstream. warmly, dave |
