MG TD TF 1500 - Cleaning side curtain compartment
What is the best way to strip the old felt and adhesive from inside the side curtain carrier? My guess is that sand blasting won't work that well and there isn't enough clearance to use the paint and rust removal discs on my grinder. Will paint stripper work? Thanks.

Putty knife? Wire brush? It is not too difficult to remove, you may want to take it out to strip it and paint it. -David

I pulled the felt out with my hands tugging on the felt an gently prying up with a putty knife. I have rather large hands and it is a cramped space.. Take your time , but it will come. Paint stripper, and putty knife is the best way to remove the old contact cement after the felt is removed. (I tried all kinds of methods). I cleaned up the last bit with a little stripper and steel wool. Anyone know where to get 1/4" black felt? Otherwise I will have to wash and re-install the original. Best of luck to you W.S.

I bought some of the same type black felt from a local auto upholstery shop. It was stocked in rolls.
