MG TD TF 1500 - Check tranny level hot or cold?

Probably doesn't matter, but I was checking my tranny dipstick today and it occured to me if it mattered? Should it be checked with engine hot or cold? I'm not sure how "hot" the tranny itself gets hence the query.

I agree with your beginning comment - it really doesn't matter! I fill mine with Red Line oil and don't think about it for a long time.

ed, it only matters in the sense if you check it hot..the dip stick will be hot...be careful not to toast your fingers. regards, tom
