MG TD TF 1500 - Can you tell me where this goes and what its calle

I dont remember what this part is or where it goes.

I think, just from looking at the picture is an Abingdon 47-011, called "Body Shell Apron" The equivalent Moss part looks different. 457-130 "Rear Panel"

It would seem to go between Moss 450-875 "Tank Back Board" and the gas tank?

What holds it on, what are the 4 large holes for?

That is the panel that goes above the tank backboard and the four large holes are for the gas tank straps (and spare tire carrier).

you nail it to the wood. 18 gauge 5/8 long nails.

45 years ago was the last time I overhauled a TD. I had an old 53 TD back then.
My new one is a 50 TD. I agree, it is difficult to remember all the details from back then.
