MG TD TF 1500 - Bucket List

OK,so not really my bucket list, but I sure would like to own one of these TD's.I have been lurking here for a couple of weeks and have been trying to learn as much as I can about these gems. My name is Brian Graham, I live in a small town(Caledonia)in Southern Ontario. I have always had an interest in MG's but in the past I have been just too busy raising kids and paying for homes and life in general, however I find myself now at the point in my life where maybe it could be time to take over the care of classic TD.

Looking around the Internet I have found a couple of cars for sale here in Ontario. I guess my question is just what do I look for in a TD? I don't really want to get into a full resto, a good looking driver would be fine with me. So most of my attention has been with cars that have had an older restoration. I do realize that these are old vehicles that will need repairs and some TLC. How does one determine the value of a car? I know a car is worth what someone is willing to pay, and that all depends on condition of course. Any suggestion in this area would be appreciated.

I see another Southern Ontario gent(Gord Lawson)posting here...and on a lot of other web sites related to MG T series.... would be nice to meet up with you, or maybe you know of a car that is available. I kind of plan on going to Bronte next month, maybe you will be there.

thanks in advance to any of your responses

...always at Bronte....however, check out the Ontario MGT Register website...think there are a couple of Ts for sale there.... http://www.omgtr.ca/

I also know of a nice one down Niagara way that a chap mentioned he might sell when we chatted last weekend....

Unless you really want to rebuild one yourself, (or are a glutton for punishment), invest a decent amount in a finished car. You may wind up paying more for a fixer-upper, and spend a chunk of time in redoing it.
