MG TD TF 1500 - Beautiful drive today

My wife and I took a lovely drive this afternoon in the TD. It was in the mid 50's. We bundled up a bit because it's chilly once you're moving.

The car was absolutely purring, the exhaust note just so. Took some of the quiet back roads that we still have nearby - they will soon be four lane divided roads so we enjoy them while we have them. Also drove through a neighborhood where the average lot is over 5 acres and there are horses, cows or goats. Quiet place on a quiet day.

Sorry, no photos to share. The drive was all about the quality of the moment. The little car was a big part of it. Top down, with the smell that only these little cars have, the smells and sounds of the surroundings blending in and the crisp mild winter air. Perfect!

I kept saying to Cindy, "This is what these little cars were made for - quiet touring on roads like these on days like this." She nodded quietly, with a plaid lap blanket in place.

I'm looking forward to more moments like that. So relaxing, so rewarding. There are worse things to do with 45 minutes out of a day. These little cars are good for the soul. I could take the same drive in my Suburban and never feel the same.

I hope to sleep the sleep of the innocent tonight. The afternoon was quite conducive to it.

Cheers!!!

We live in Fort Worth. I have not been to Austin since my oldest daughter got her diver certification at Lake Travis in 2003. I like it there quite a bit. I wouldn't mind taking a weekend trip. I have been meaning to take a tour of the Capital bldg.
