MG TD TF 1500 - Banjo fitting on Carb

I am just tidying up the carbs on the TDII (the one with two pumps). More of the 1980's compromises being removed.

I notice that the fuel pipe feed banjos have a recessed face and a flush face. Which side goes to the carb lid?

The flush face goes toward the carburetor. The recessed face goes toward the head of the banjo bolt. Be careful with the washers. The diameter of the recess is smaller than the outer diameter of the washer that is used on the side facing the carburetor. Make certain that the washer used in the recess fits into the recess. Bud
