No word on the ransom request yet.

I have some bad news to report. Sometime over the past couple of days someone broke into our club trailer. The trailer was fully locked up and they cut a lock to gain entry. Unfortunately Bob was a victim of the theft. He was in his box which made him look like a regular tool box. Along with Bob 6 of our club tents were taken as well. A police report has been filed and have given pictures of Bob to the officers to include in the report. I will be checking the local pawn shops but not sure what these clowns would do with such an item. I am doing everything I can at this point and will let you know if anything comes up. This took place at my residence so is a little disconcerting. Fortunately my kids were not out playing when this occurred.

Very sad. Very sad indeed, LaVerne. As you know, I got to meet Bob in Reno. Pretty swell fellow, I'd say.

If Bob is really gone .. I mean like, REALLY GONE Man, its likely he'll turn up in Montréal.

Its a known International fact that hot Bobs turn up here. Just make sure your dick's can speak French.

I'm sure Bob will come back. I think you should post a picture or two so everybody can see what we're looking for.

In the meantime, and I think I speak for many on this board ... our sympathies.

Do you still have the ipod regestration information?
Not sure how that works with itunes as far as transfering for a used one but I think you have to regester the unit to use it.
Maybe contact itunes? If they try to "re-regester" the unit and you have alerted them maybe they can help?

I was dead wrong on the ipod. Looked into it a little bit. Used one can simply be "sync'd" to a different library with no regestration needed. Too bad.
So "where" was Bob stolen from? City?

I agree with Willem, Gordon, and others that think the Local News would jump at an opertunity to do a story about Bob. It would put many, many eyes looking for him in the area where he dissapeared.. Especially when they find out how he was built, about his world wide Friendship tour!!!!
Also, if an reward is to be posted, count me in!!!!

OK ...so here is my idea.
We refine this a bit ...repost it here, then copy and paste it to Craigslist around the country to get the ball rolling.
If you have some ideas edit this and "re-paste" it.
Anything to make it more "entertaining" should help us get on the "Best of CL" and help with getting the word out. Once we aggree on a final version we bombard the media.
(I seem to recall this group doing quite a good job winning a contest for one of our board members not too long ago ;-)!

????? Near Atlanta Georgia. (when/where?)
BOB was embarking on a world tour and due to attend Valve Cover Races on several continites. He is a beloved member of the World-Wide M.G. community with friends
from all over the globe. Many will sadly miss his participation.

The M.G. community has been shaken to it’s roots by the action of these thief’s and
has banded together to offer a reward for the return of our hero.
You will see Bob’s picture on mike cartons and the backs of semi trucks throughout the land. If you have any information concerning the whereabouts of Bob you are urged to contact us. A reward (of unknown amount at this time) will be offered for information
leading to the arrest & apprehension of the persons responsible for this haness crime.

To the thief’s:
Do be advised that you have litterly hundreds (if not thousands) of angry elderly
gentlemen, (and “not so gentle” ladies), actively searching for you! All of us have
tool kits for our Little British Cars that include ball-peen hammers, tyre irons, as
well as other weapons of mass destruction, (mainly small cars with bad brakes and
deadly electric systems). Do you really want to go through life trying to avoid us?
We drive small 60 year old cars on modern freeways ….have no doubt, WE ARE
A Dangerous Lot, and a force to be reckoned with. We may be old, but we are fearless!

I like it. I'm working on getting some location details right now. I'd prefer we keep the reward to something totally in line with the Bob theme. So far we have $1.24 offered up. Perhaps we up the ante with a "Stiff" drink? Maybe one of your free chickens David? lol.Perhaps some belly button lint?

It was my great priviledge to meet
Bob in person in November in Athens. His loss to the racing world is immeasureable.
I have three kittens (Manx, which would make them Whitworth?) I would be glad
