MG TD TF 1500 - axle change

One our group had a noisy axle and we offered to help him replace it while we find out what is wrong with it.
Thought you might like to see this, we have left out the bit where the first replacement axle gave up the ghost after 2 car lengths off the ramp.

Great fun to watch! Wish I had a lift like that in a such a beautiful setting!!!

I didn't get any audio however. I think I could hear some faint classical music in the background?? I would suggest next time that the camera person give a narration of what we're looking at. That would really help neophites like myself follow the action.

One item that I highly recommend is the protective piece that one would find on an MGA unit under the u-bolts. It prevents the u-bolts from grinding themselves into the housing. Fits perfectly!

I finally got it to open,,,, nice work!! One thing that I believe would be recomended would be to retighten the lock nuts on the "U" bolts after a few hundred miles, after the spring pack and rubbers resettle,,,,

Hi Ed,
the beautiful setting is in the North Wales hills area, the village is Llanarmon-yn-ial. This seems to translate as "The church of St Garmon in the fertile hill country".It is a terrible thing to say but I live only 15 miles from the Welsh border and have never managed the language except for Hello and Thank you.
