MG TD TF 1500 - Attaching firewall to TF tub

The new front top (and side) rail(s) (made by Fenton Bagley)on the tub does not have holes drilled in it (photo) to take the firewall mounting bolts and I don't have a good photo of how it was previously mounted. I don't think the firewall mounted flush with the top edge of the wood, but was a little lower, so there was about 1/2" of wood showing. Does anyone have any info on this (or photos)? thanks for any help.

The bottom two bolts on each side should go through the angle iron brackets in the tub. These will locate your firewall north/south to the tub. Watch the alignment along the top of the firewall. There are no predetermined reference points here. You need to check the arch/ sag alignment along the top.

My unrestored tub shows approx 1/4 inch of vertical timber above the centre firewall if that helps. There is also what looks like some very thin hard black rubber sandwiched between the two.
