MG TD TF 1500 - Another 'Perfect and Correct' Restoration
Here's a new one: 130581458863 "Perfect nuts and bolts frame off correct restoration." Perfect except for the seat upholstery pattern, the green carpet, and still having the combined horn/lights dimmer switch on a 1953 car. Went to the foot dimmer in August 1952. That's among the items that one can pick out quickly. No pics of the engine or underside. Wants $ 41,999. BobbyG

Round tail lamps put it after 10/24/52. Factor never sent it out with that dashboard, or the black tonneau cover. Bud

I'd want to see a lot more pictures and documentation to back up that asking price -David

Hard to really tell, but speedo and tach look like they are flat face. Has anyone ever seen a TD with a seat pattern like that? Owner says it is factory correct. I would also want to see pictures of under the hood and under the car. Nice TD, but not at that price.

The figure 41 grand may be what the guy has in it but not what he is going to get. Unless that car has some sort of provenance with it( it says contact MovieStarCars.) in which case like the Barbara Mandrel car, he might get some of that money.I think to many people think they can get out of a car what they have in it. These aint Duesenbergs.

Bruce - pretty sure they are dished instruments. And the upholstery pattern reminds me of the black and white seats I wrote about a few weeks ago (that sold for $400!). I asked to see engine shots and the seller told me he would take them. SO FAR we have wrong dash, wrong upholstery, wrong carpet, wrong horn push/dimmer, and wrong tonneau. Let's see what surprised the under-bonnet gives us! Tom Lange bar Harbor, Maine

I sent him an e mail also pointing out what is wrong. Cant wait to see if like the one last week, the guy wont answer.

Gentlemen ...How could you possibly doubt the word of a seller with such a impresive track record? (His "other buyer" seemed quite happy with his gloves!) I DO think we should all chip in and get him "spell-check". IMHO: I smell scam.
