MG TD TF 1500 - Advice sought on TC5194

In the absense of a TC forum, I'm hoping you guys can help here. I'm thinking about buying a car with TC5194 stamped into the front of the chassis. The car is in bits and ready for restoration.

A couple of internet sites have this car as Phil Hill's first racing TC.

I've spoken with the current owner, and he wasn't aware of this history.

The body that's with the car probably isn't the correct one - in fact the ID plate is missing and the engine doesn't match either.

Is there anywhere/anyhow I can confirm that the chassis is what I think it is ?

Darren - There are few if any TC owners on this site. The place to get more information on the TCs is the T-ABC site. Go to http://www.mg-tabc.org/ and get registered there, you should be able to get some more accurate answers. Cheers - Dave
