MG TD TF 1500 - 5.50x15 tires

Can anyone tell me when they stopped making/selling 5.50x15 tires? Late 50's? Early 60's?

Thanks, but I am trying to figure out something different. I just got a complete rolling chassis and drivetrain that has been sitting in a barn since the very early 60's, and the speedometer that came with it shows 23,000 miles. There is so little wear on everything that I believe it to be genuine.

Since the car is shod with four 5.50x15 Dunlops (possibly original) and everything seems right, I am trying to figure out if the early 60's date for storage is correct - a terminus ad quem.

I have a set of 600-15's on my TD that I bought at Farm and Fleet in Wakeshaw, WI in 1987

Not sure with one's this old, but tires usually have a code that indicates the manufacture date. Post it and I will see if I can find it. You can google how to do this also.
