MG MGF Technical - wont start when hot
Hi I have a 96 MGF WITH 75,000KL on it some times after a run of around 10 kloms I get a miss fire then when I stop the engine it will not start wont even fire, after it has gone cold it starts and runs fine (till the next time) I have put new plugs in , new leads, and a new distributor cap any help would be great

New rotor arm too? Could be a problem with the coil - but check all the usual things. As ever, it's either inadequate spark (the things you've already checked over) or poor fuel flow...

Thanks for the info, the car was fitted with a new rotor arm 18 month back (or so they said) the coil is old and so is the fuel filter, but here in Spain parts are very hard to find when

Try fleabay - traders usually send to euroland without problems. If you want new, use X-Part factors, like Rimmer Bros, or one of the MGF specialists such as Brown and Gammon, MGF Centre or Mike Satur. The parts concerned shouldn't be too expensive, and may be worth replacing in any case...

Car now sorted , needed new coil, and the gargage that said they had fitted new dist cap rotor arm had'nt the cap and arm were well ------ked
