MG MGF Technical - Windows not working
I had one window that wouldn't open, now have another that won't close (yeah I know, I would have got around to it), anyway, it judders a bit when i press the button but there's no movement. Any ideas or does anyone know a dealer in brussels. Thanks in advance

Hi Steve, First things to check are both switches. It sounds like both need cleaning. Had you just had the one window not working then swapping switches over would confirm a switch needs stripping and cleaning if the fault shifted across to the other window. But as you are having trouble with both then you will have to remove one switch, clean it and see if that fixes the fault. If it does then pop it into the other window plug to confirm that the other switch also needs cleaning. It's not a difficult job to open up the switch and clean the contacts. Smear a little contact grease on at re-assembly. Good luck. willyphixitt

Do not bother to clean the switch. Disconnect the switches and use a paperclip 'Link' on the connectors to see if the motors operate. The motor is the last part to fail. It is either switches, connectors or the gearwheel made of 'unavailable'. Geoff F.

I knew there was an easier way, but don't show me I like struggling. Although my guess is that it is the switches, in which case you are going to have to clean them anyway. TTFN willyphixitt

Thanks for the help. It's not the fuses, I don't think it's the switches as when I press either of them the window judders (couple of mm). If i remove the door panel, 1) will I get it back on, 2) will I be able to at least force the open window to a (nearly) closed position Thanks in advance
