MG MGF Technical - VVC Engine wont idle

Hi,

My car had been sitting for a couple of weeks, and now after jump starting it it refuses to idle. I can rev it, and its fine..... i can even keep the revs at 1K by very very lightly touching the accelerator....

If this was a carb engine, i would assume the idle screw needed adjusting.... is there such a thing on an F?

No, the "idle screw" is a small electric stepper motor.
Idle Air Control Valve (IACV)

I'ts controlled by the ECU and several sensors in the engine bay.
