MG MGF Technical - Uneven Idle

Hi to all the experts,
you have helped me sort out the steering, (I just read some threads and found the problem with their help) but now I'm stuck with a new problem (VVC Engine)I have just done the head gasket and now find that up to 1500/2000 revs the car is lumpy, after 2000 she is sweet as a nut !!

Any ideas on where to look ??

Hi Clive,

I had my HG done a few months back and had the same trouble, basically the engine would not idle smoothly and would instead fluctuate as you describe. I complianed the garage who done the work and they had the car back and reset the stepper motor. HTH. ;-)

This reset can easily be done at home, ignition on floor the accelerator pedal 4 times, ignition off, wait a couple of seconds then start the engine. Problem should be fixed. I have a K series engined Caterham as well as the F, worked last time on the Caterham, Alan
