MG MGF Technical - Track Rod Ends
Hi All I've just replaced the track rod ends on my 98 F,when I went to get the tracking checked today it would appear that the replacment ends could be longer than the orignals,as there is no thread left on the track rod, with the rod end fully wound in it still needs to go furher in to give correct wheel alignment. anyone had this problem before? Thanks Andy

Where did you buy these from? should be Metro 82/90 Have you thread available at the other side? Does the end enter the steering arm from the top or the bottom?

Thanks for your reply, they come from a good motor factors, who I have dealt with for many years without any problem. I have removed the rod ends to find that they are not a pair despite being in sealed boxes, before fitting I checked that they where the same as the ones fitted, however I only looked at one!! the problem is the other one is 8mm longer than the other, so little wonder it would not track correctly,I'll get replacments today, and that should be it sorted.
