MG MGF Technical - TF 135 coolant quantity
The manual says 10.5 litres of coolant. Today I drained the system and at start the expansiontank was at seamlevel. Heater turned to hot. Cap unscrewed, all three bleederscrews removed, underpipes out (I wil replace them with stainless) and I collected all the liquid. However, only about seven litres came out. Where are the other three litres and how to get them out as well? They are not in the radiator because I flushed that and only a little bit of pink coolant came with the clearwater flow. greetings, Huib

I think you'll find the rest of the coolant trapped in the block, just below the top of the liners. If you are changing the water pump, the rest will fall out.

Thanks Jerry, I followed your suggestion and took the waterpump out and indeed the rest splashed out. So, this looks like if one wants to exchange the coolant, one never gets everything out by just draining at the hose-underbody pipe connection. A remarkable quantity of about three litres will stay inside. Greetings, Huib
