MG MGF Technical - Technical status of the LE500?
| Hi all, have recently seen on other forums that some dealers have the LE500 in their show-rooms. As usually some interesting reading but also a lot of .... Is there anyone out there that has information on the engine in the LE ? Could it be that one way to tame the HGF (apart from using latest LR-gasket+rail) is that there are more changes to the engine than we currently know? As there is reported problems with rods and pistons on prototypes, could it be a new liner set-up with more like "decked liners",i.e all liners fastend at the top with one enough thick plate that then meets the head gasket. Of course the height of the block has to be lowered to the same amount as the added "deck" In this way the protroution of the liners and the movements would be minimized. A lot of questions, but surely someone has a hint of the new M-engine. / Carl |
