MG MGF Technical - squeak on back wheel
hi i have put new disks pads on my car to try and stop this squeak i have greased the pads were they should be i have sanded the edge of the pads down also i have cleaned the handbreak spring and made sure that moves free i ave sprayed wd40 on all the rubber bushes i even put the spare wheel on to see if that helped but there stil is a squeak on the back wheel the squeak is only there when i free wheel at any speed as soon as i press the accelerator it goes what else could be causing this squeak ??????? only other thing i can think of is wheelbearing or drive shaft

| sounds very similar to a noise I had which turned out to be a rear wheel bearing.I wouldn't delay in confirming this as the hub itself can get damaged leading to further expense.good luck. |

| I'll second that - a failing bearing can soon start to damage the hub carrier, and they're getting harder to find new so expect the price to start climbing 8-/ The drive shaft isn't a common failure, and is more likely to emit a clunk noise rather than a squeak/whistle. |
