MG MGF Technical - Seized Coolant Bleed Nipple
| I've just drained the coolant from my 1998 'F' but I've come across a problem. The heater bleed nipple under the front bonnet is stuck fast and I'm scared of shearing it or causing damage behind the bulkhead if I apply too much pressure. I've been soaking it with pentrating spray over the last day or so and kept trying to free it (as yet with no succes). As I apply torque, I can feel the whole thing twisting (feels like it may be into a rubber pipe?). Does anyone know exactly what is behind there and how much pressure you can safely put on it? Maybe I'm being a bit soft and just need to give it some welly (but I don't fancy taking the dash out to mend it if it goes wrong!!) Any hints or tips for freeing it up would be gratefully received! |

| Brake fluid itself is quite good at penetrating and easing, have you tried a couple of drops into the nipple itelf. It can't do any harm and might just help in conjunction with your other measures. |
