MG MGF Technical - Reversing light switch

Thinking of jobs to do, my reversing lights are not working, so it's probably the switch. Any tips on replacing it? How much of a pain in the a**e is it?

IIRC a 17mm or 19mm spanner is all you'll need to unscrew it from the gearbox casing, and the wires have bullet connectors so should pull apart easily. Easiest done from above with engine cover removed, it's mounted topside of the gearbox so might be hard to reach from below.

It's not that long since I had the cover off - I'm getting quite good at it. I'll try not to leave a spanner under the insulating mat next time :-(
